Christian Ethics: An Introduction

Christian ethics is not a list of rules to earn God's favour. It is the life that answers God's grace. Learn to reason from Scripture to real cases.

Following Christian Ethics, this course moves from the foundations, through the global questions of life, marriage, money, justice, peace and speech, to the hard cases churches face in the Global South. You learn to reason from Scripture to a principle, and from the principle to a real case. You learn to tell what the New Testament states firmly from matters on which faithful believers differ, and to help a congregation reach a decision without breaking its unity.

What you will study

  • God as the source of moral authority, and human dignity in his image
  • Law and gospel, Jesus as model, and the power of the Spirit
